M48 and Lambda

I need some clarification on M48 Lambda readings.
We have a fully optioned M48 in our air-cooled 911, and we cannot get Lambda to operate. We used the original Motec supplied sensor, wired per the schematic, and now a LC-1 wired per the manufacture and Motec instructions.
We set the values per Motec East here in the states, and the meter is not giving faults, but in the log file, we see values of 44 or 45 lambda. We tune on a dyno, and that meter has us at 12-1 AF, so we are really confused.
We have the Lambda set to narrow band in the software, should this be wide?
