M4 wastefire or not on 6cyl?

Postby bmw-gtr on Wed Apr 15, 2009 8:52 am

I have an BMW 6 cylinder engine and are going to mount an M4 on it, I have an Ignition expander also.

I would like to have all auxiliary outputs available. How shuld I connect the injectors and ignition? Can I connect the injectors semisequential and the ignition sequential on the expander?

If you want to run sequential ignition from your expander you will need to use a ref/sync mode that allows sequential operation. In other words you will need a sync (Cam) sensor. Depending on which BMW engine you have there may already be one fitted. Otherwise you can wire them up as wasted spark with or without the Ignition Expander. If you want the ignition to be sequential you will need to set the Injector Opperation to Sequential, otherwise only 3 of the Ignition Outputs on the Expander will work.
