Fine tuning TOOTH RATIO

Postby MSIMARD on Mon Oct 31, 2011 9:11 am

How do you know when you are getting close to the ideal tooth ratio setting?
Is there a disadvantage from setting the value too high or too low?

In my case I suspect the I'm getting cranking issues but it's hard to know what new TR settings are really doing other than starting with trouble or not.

Where are you located? Who is your MoTeC dealer that isn't providing support?

Hi,

For crank trigger setups with missing teeth, the tooth ratio should be set to 50, it is very rare that any number other than that needs to be used. Additional tooth modes will also usually use 50, with some circumstances where the additional tooth is located less than half way between the teeth needing the number to be dropped to 40.
