Hello
I expose you my problem.
I bought an old car that has an M48 calculator. I downloaded the software for the M48, version 6.20D and installed it on my laptop with Windows XP.
i use my port rs232 on my laptop.
I have the link cable rs232 motec Part No:# 63003.
I tried different connection port using the F5 key and autocomport too. But I can not get the connection with the calculator.
The car starts and the connection of the calculator is ok
Thanks for your help.

What is the serial number of your ECU?

for M4's Only ECU's with serial numbers <3000 need a 63003 PCI cable

All M4-8's need a PCI cable.

You need to check how your D9 is wired into the loom.

Have you plugged the silver end of the 63003 into the ECU D9 connector?

Does your laptop have a native RS232 D9 or is it a USB to RS232 adapter?

hello,
sorry I was traveling and today I see your answer.
The calculator label is this one:
MoTeC M48
9703 serial 338 EPS B2

I connected the D9 marked ECU to the calculator.

My laptop have a native RS232.

The D9 is connected with only 5 wires.

I just noticed this comment from you:

"The car starts and the connection of the calculator is ok "

Does this mean you can tune the engine while the engine is running?

If this is true then your connections to the laptop are OK. I would suspect no power to the ECU when the engine is not running but power is switched on.
