M4 on a 20V Blacktop

Postby yanisxae86 on Sat Oct 29, 2016 3:58 am

hello,

I'm starting to do my 20V in an AE86 and i'm using a Motec M4 ECU. Now i have 2 questions:
Does anyone has a basic map to start with so i can drive it to the tuner in the basic map.
My other question is, how can i make the COP (coilpacks) work. Is it just make a little loom for it and connect it to the ECU on the correct pinout or do i need to use the old signal from the dizzy, i guess not because that's only one signal. If not, how do i get 4 signals for it?

I'm pretty new to programmable ECU so some help would be appriciated. :D

You will still need to use at least the base of the distributor as the trigger unless you have fitted some type of crank trigger.
If you intend to use the denso/toyota COP's with internal ignitors then you would wire one to each of the M4 ignition outputs. They need to be wired in firing order like so:
M4 ign out#1 > Coil cyl 1.
M4 ign out#2 > Coil cyl 3.
M4 ign out#3 > Coil cyl 4.
M4 ign out#4 > Coil cyl 2.
