Remove password

Hi can anyone help.
Motec M48 is locked by password. Password has been lost.
I understand Motec could help if I return the ECU to Melbourne (via a dealer) ?
Is there any way to access tuning files without going to Motec via a dealer ?
I.e. by loading different software version - without loosing tuning file ?
What about wiping everything and then reloading ?
