Need a download cable for M4

I have a M4 purchased around Nov 2002. The serial number is unreadable.

I don't have a download cable for it. The car has a custom plug and I have a connector for it, but I want to get a download cable to wire to the new connector.

What should I order?

I found out my serial number is in the 4000 range, so all I need is a standard serial cable.

How should I wire this? I don't have an old enough manual to show it.
